The power plant is located in a private industrial estate. The surrounding area has many industries and two more gas based power plants. Nearby area has witnessed healthy growth of business & industry in the past due to the special status awarded to Uttarakhand. However, of late, the growth rate has slowed down. One of the adjacent gas based power plant has recently availed gas supply from Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) and will start commercial production very soon.
Kashipur town is just 12 kms away from the plant. Several other industries are located in the region.
Land
The project is set up on 41.0 acres of land of which 36.0 acres is freehold land and 5.0 acres is leasehold land. The leased land is owned by Soma Energy which is a Group Company. The details are furnished in Land Valuation Schedule
Water
Water Supply Five bore wells have been constructed to supply water during construction stage. The Company plans to construct 8 permanent bore wells once the plant starts commercial operation
Machinery
The combined cycle power plant has two sets of gas turbine generators (GE MAKE) of 77.2MW gross output and heat recovery steam generators (HRSG) along with one steam turbine generator (STG) of 85.2MW output with evaporative cooling of compressor inlet air. Power Supply The Company has 750 KVA electricity connection from the grid to fulfill its power requirement during construction stage. Two DG sets (one 500 KVA and another 250 KVA) are also available at site
